View GPX Files Online

This free GPX viewer opens any GPX file — from a Garmin, a watch, a phone app, or a route planner — and shows its tracks, routes, and waypoints on a map with full statistics and interactive elevation, heart rate, and speed charts. Tracks are colored by climbing effort or by elevation, and hovering a chart pinpoints that exact spot on the map. Everything runs in your browser: the file is never uploaded.

How do I view a GPX file online?

Drag the file onto the page (it lands in the panel on the right), or press Load GPX and pick it (Ctrl+O / Cmd+O). The map zooms to your data and the panel lists every track segment, route, and waypoint — click any of them to zoom in and highlight it.

Is my GPX file uploaded to a server?

No. The file is parsed entirely in your browser and never leaves your computer — nothing is uploaded or stored. That makes the viewer safe for private tracks and fast even for large files.

What statistics does it show?

Total distance, duration and moving time, elevation gain and loss, minimum and maximum elevation, average and maximum speed (when the file has timestamps), average and maximum heart rate, power and cadence (when the device recorded them), plus per-segment distances and point counts.

Can I see heart rate and speed charts?

Yes. Under the map, pick Elevation, Heart rate, Speed, or any other series the file carries (power, cadence, temperature). Heart rate comes from the Garmin and Apple Health extensions that watches write; speed is worked out from the timestamps over a few seconds, so GPS jitter and stops do not spike it. Hover the chart to follow the spot on the map.

What do the track colors mean?

In Effort mode the track is colored by grade — green for flat, orange and red for climbs, blues and purple for descents — so you can read the character of a route at a glance. Switch to Elevation mode to color by altitude instead.

Can I edit or convert my GPX file?

You can re-export the loaded data with Export GPX. To draw or edit geodata, try the GeoJSON Editor; to plot plain coordinate lists, use Plot Points.

Is there an app?

Yes. GPX Explore, on iPhone, iPad and Mac, opens any GPX file with the track coloured by grade, every sensor charted and a workout summary. Free. App Store · Mac App Store · More about GPX Explore
